SALISBURY — A man was flown to a Winston-Salem hospital Thursday with head injuries after his car hit a house on Camp Road.
The man, whose name was not immediately available, was turning onto Camp Road from the North Carolina Department of Transportation parking lot across from the maintenance yard, just after 2 p.m.
The car, a 2-door Ford Aspire, traveled across the road and ran into a home at 165 Camp Road.
No other vehicles were involved. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating.
“He had severe head trauma,” said Trooper J.P. Page.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt.
Page said the impact of the crash moved the mobile home about 6 inches off its foundation.
The homeowner was at home at the time, but was not injured.
The air ambulance landed at the Rowan County Airport and took the man to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
