SALISBURY — Police are investigating an altercation that preceeded a shooting on Clancy Street Sunday night.
Officers found a woman with facial injuries after she said she heard shotgun fire about 11 p.m. in the 100 block of Clancy Street.
The woman’s injuries received medical treatment on the scene, but she was not taken to the hospital, the report said.
She told officers she heard shots and felt a burning sensation on her neck and below her left eyebrow.
As police were speaking to her, they received a report of a man at Rowan Regional Medical Center with gunshot wounds.
The man, later identified as Brandon Hardin, was hit in the chest, shoulder, arm and neck.
Police said none of the injuries were severe and he was treated and released.
Investigators said the shooting may have stemmed from a dispute between several parties on Dan Street earlier Sunday.
Hardin told officers he was walking along Clancy Street when he heard the shots and began running away.
As he began sprinting, he realized he had been hit and called a friend to take him to the hospital, the report said.
