Crime Stoppers offers $1,000 reward for train robbers

SALISBURY — Rowan County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two men who robbed two train operators aboard a Norfolk Southern train in April.
Salisbury Police said two masked gunmen jumped on a train and robbed a conductor and engineer who were waiting for shift replacements about 11 p.m. April 29.
Police estimated about $30 in cash and credit cards were taken in the robbery.
The suspects, believed to be in their 20s, were last seen heading south along the tracks.
The first suspect was described as a black male about 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds. He was holding a revolver, and wearing jeans and a white T-shirt, the report said.
The second suspect, who was carrying a pump shotgun with a wooden stock, was a black male about 190 pounds, and about 5-foot-9.
