KANNAPOLIS — A Kannapolis woman was arrested after authorities said the 27-year-old convicted felon attempted to sell a handgun.
Amber Nicole Revis, of Evelyn Avenue, was charged with felony possession of a firearm by felon. She was placed under a $15,000 bond.
Kannapolis Police arrested Revis Wednesday evening and booked her into Rowan County jail about 1 a.m.
Officers said they were notified Revis was trying to sell the weapon. Once the transaction was complete, the 27-year-old was arrested.
Revis spent more than a year in prison after she pleaded no contest in 2009 to the involuntary manslaughter of her seven-day-old child.
Authorities believe the child, Tanner Chapman, suffocated when Revis or the child’s father rolled over onto the child while they were sleeping.
Revis remained in jail Thursday afternoon.
