Police: Three charged with robbing China Buffet

KANNAPOLIS — Three people were charged with robbing a Chinese restaurant on North Cannon Boulevard at gunpoint last night.
According to Kannapolis Police, Damonte Kerrick Harper, of West Kirk Street in China Grove; Jaquavis DeWayne Stockton, of Johndy Avenue in Kannapolis; and Latonya Jean Stockton, of Southwest Street in Salisbury were arrested following an armed robbery at China Buffet.
Witnesses told officers they saw two men, one with a handgun and the other with a shotgun, exit a white minivan in the parking lot about 8:30 p.m.
A few minutes after the call, officers arrested Latonya Stockton, who was driving a white Dodge Caravan.
Harper and Jaquavis Stockton were caught fleeing on foot near Jackson Park Road, police said.
A press release did not say what was taken from restaurant.
All three were charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and resisting, obstructing or delaying an officer.
Harper was in jail Thursday under a $100,000 bond. The Stocktons were each under a $75,000 bond.
