The nation remembered its military men and women on Monday. Residents at the N.C. State Veterans Home in Salisbury marked Memorial Day with a ceremony of their own.
Mayor Paul Woodson was guest speaker at the ceremony, which included a 21-gun salute.
After the service, residents and their family members enjoyed a cookout and picnic.
The Veterans Home is on the campus of the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center.
