Air-quality warnings are in effect today.
The National Weather Service issued a code orange warning for ozone that is in effect until 9 p.m. The warning means ozone concentrations could exceed health standards in some areas, and that children and adults prone to breathing problems should limit outdoor exertion.
The air-quality warning is also the result of hot weather building in the region. Temperatures are forecast to hit the 90s this week, with a chance for thunderstorms this afternoon.
For the rest of the week, the daily forecast calls for hot, sunny weather with nightly lows of about 70.
