STATESVILLE — The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has seized more than $20,000 in property believed to have been stolen in several of the surrounding counties.
Authorities ask anyone who recognizes the property to call the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office at 704-216-8700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
Detectives from Iredell and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office raided Advantage Mini Storage and The Quality Inn on Sullivan Road on Tuesday.
The search warrants were obtained during an investigation into a rash of residential break-ins in the area during the last two months, Iredell detectives said in a press release.
Deputies have arrested Keenan Wade Hildebrand, 18, of Highview Circle in Statesville.
He was in Iredell County jail under a $50,000 bond Thursday. More charges are expected, the release said.
Authorities are also searching for Christian Dean Ser Catarino, 25, of Stockton Street in Statesville.
Catarino has several outstanding warrants in Iredell and Rowan counties, authorities said.
After interviewing Hildebrand, deputies found the stolen property at the two storage locations. They also found jewelry connected to a burglary case in Rowan County.
Authorities are working together with surrounding agencies, including the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office and the Troutman Police Department to identify the stolen property.
Detectives ask anyone with information about the Catarino to call the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office at 704-878-3180 or Statesville Crime Stoppers at 704-662-1340.
