SALISBURY — A Walmart employee was arrested Thursday after the store’s loss prevention officials told authorities she had been stealing money during transactions.
According to a Salisbury Police report, Jakia Nicole Brown, of North Craige Street, was taken into custody at the 323 S. Arlington St. store about 4 p.m.
The report said Brown took about $650 in cash during a seven-day period, between June 27 and July 4.
The report said officials were notified after “accounting irregularities” in Brown’s cash register.
Surveillance footage showed Brown would “pocket the difference” when handling a cash transaction, a police report said.
Brown was charged with felony embezzlement.
She was released after posting a $1,000 bond.
