SALISBURY — A 53-year-old Salisbury man was arrested Saturday night after he invited a 17-year-old to his home and offered “to pay her to perform sex acts with her,” according to an arrest report.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said deputies charged James Kittle, of Lawndale Drive, with soliciting or requesting a minor for prostitution and common law false imprisonment, both misdemeanors.
Kittle invited the 17-year-old to his home to eat a meal, an arrest report said.
But when the girl got there, Kittle began to make her feel uncomfortable, deputies said.
Officers said the teenager agreed to go to the home because she thought Kittle’s sons, who are near her age, would be there.
When she finished the meal, the man, who she said had never made her feel uncomfortable before, “asked the victim to allow him to perform sex acts with her,” the report said.
She refused, deputies said, and Kittle used his hand to block the exit.
The teenager told him she would call the police and he let her go, the report said.
She called 911 when she got home.
Kittle was released after posting a $1,000 bond.
