SALISBURY — A man accused of sex crimes in Salisbury four months ago is now in jail after authorities found him in Florida.
Ronald Gene Blyden, 41, whose address is listed as 204 Oak Ave. in Lexington, was charged with one count of taking indecent liberties with a child and one count of statutory rape.
The mother of a 14-year-old girl reported the incidents March 13 to the Salisbury Police Department, which issued a warrant for his arrest March 25.
Salisbury Police recently received information that Blyden may have been living in Florida, so they contacted authorities there. Blyden was arrested and detained in the Pinellas County jail in Florida before being taken back to Salisbury on Thursday afternoon.
He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center and remains there under a $350,000 bond.
