SALISBURY — A woman accused of threatening a Rockwell man with a knife and taking cash from his wallet turned herself in at the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday morning.
Amy Gainey, 38, of Crescent Road, was wanted on an outstanding charge of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon after an incident July 20.
Deputies said Gainey approached a man at his home on Orphanage Road and demanded prescription medication.
When he declined, she brandished a knife and demanded money, according to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report.
A warrant was obtained for Gainey’s arrest on Saturday. She surrendered at the Main Street department Wednesday morning.
Gainey was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
The 38-year-old was also arrested in May after authorities said she stole several guns and electronics from a Morganton woman’s home.
She was charged with felony possession of cocaine, felony larceny of a firearm and felony larceny.
