SALISBURY — Deputies arrested a Miller Chapel Road man and his father after authorities said an argument turned into common law robbery.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, a woman contacted officers to help her pick up property from her ex-boyfriend’s house Wednesday.
But after listening, authorities said the incident deserved charges.
Deputies said Joey Eudy, 25, and his ex-girlfriend began arguing after she cashed a check for more than $3,000 a few days ago.
She told officers Eudy grabbed the money from her hand and threw her to the floor of their house, an arrest report said.
She said he later threw her pocketbook at her when she tried to leave, along with about $1,000, the report said.
Joey Eudy was initially charged with assault on female.
Deputies said they found about $1,600 in cash in his possession at the home.
At the Magistrate’s Office, deputies also obtained a warrant for common law robbery.
He was released after posting bond Thursday.
While at the house, deputies were notified that there were also firearms in the home.
Several of them, officers said, were in the possession of Eudy’s father, Joe Eudy.
Joe Eudy, 55, a convicted felon, was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon.
The guns were seized and Joe Eudy was released after posting bond.
