SALISBURY — Authorities are investigating a bizarre incident after a 34-year-old Charlotte woman told officers three women assaulted her and cut her hair.
Salisbury Police said officers met the victim at an apartment complex on Pearl Street about 11 p.m.
She told officers she met a woman on Facebook and after talking with her for about a week, the online persona invited her to Salisbury for a “business opportunity,” according to a police report.
When she got to the apartment Thursday night, the woman said her boyfriend stayed in the vehicle and she went in.
But once inside, three women met her near the door and one locked it behind her, authorities said.
One woman asked the victim “why she had opened a bank account in her name,” the report said.
The victim said they then kicked and hit her, knocking her to the ground, the report said.
The three women cut her hair and the victim’s necklace was taken, police said.
Investigators said they have spoken to one of the women who were allegedly involved, but no charges have been filed.
The investigation is ongoing, Capt. Shelia Lingle said Friday.
