LEXINGTON (AP) — The arrest of a Lexington man has led Davidson County sheriff’s deputies to a menagerie of stuffed animals.
Authorities say they searched the home of Terry William Pitt Jr. and recovered stuffed bears, deer heads, bobcats, foxes, coyotes and a mountain lion. Deputies also found more than 60 racks of deer antlers.
The sheriff’s office said the items were reported stolen from four unidentified taxidermists in Davidson County in 2009 and 2010.
Pitt was arrested last month in connection with a series of break-ins. He was charged on Tuesday with felony breaking and entering, five counts of felony larceny after breaking and entering, three counts of felony larceny and one count of misdemeanor larceny.
Bond for Pitt is set at $40,000.
