More charges for man accused of throwing items from overpasses

SALISBURY — Authorities added five more charges Monday for a 21-year-old accused of throwing rocks and garbage cans off an interstate overpass last week.
Matthew Damion Parham was charged with two counts of misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon Aug. 23. He has been charged with five more counts of misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.
According to arrest warrants, Parham threw a road sign, rocks, concrete blocks and trash cans from overpasses at Lentz, Pine Ridge and Daughtery roads.
The reports said he did so several times on July 28, July 29 and Aug. 7.
Deputies said residents in Mount Holly, Greensboro, Salisbury and Powder Springs, Ga., were involved in the incidents.
Parham was given an additional $10,000 bond, but was not in jail Tuesday morning.
