Thieves break into Piedmont Research Station

SALISBURY – Thieves broke into the Piedmont Research Station on Sherrills Ford Road Tuesday night, authorities said.
According to an incident report, employees found the rear door had been kicked in when they returned to work Wednesday morning.
Deputies found an office door in the poultry division office had been kicked in also.
Authorities said about $250 in cash was taken and several desk drawers had been searched through.
The report estimated about $500 in damage to the property during the burglary.
