SALISBURY – A 63-year-old man was hit in the face and robbed in his home Sunday morning.
The man was lying on his couch just after midnight when he told deputies he heard a knock at the door of his apartment in the 500 block of East Fisher Street.
One man hit the resident in the face when he opened the door and the suspects scoured through the home for about 20 minutes before leaving, a Salisbury Police report said.
No descriptions were provided of the suspects.
The man told officers he had hidden $1,200 in cash in one of the coats in his closet. It was the only thing reported stolen.
Rowan EMS responded to the scene, but the man refused treatment. The report said he had a possible broken nose and busted lip.
