SALISBURY – An employee of a cleaning crew at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College has been charged with stealing more than $40,000 in vehicle transmissions from a school classroom.
A Salisbury Police report said 43-year-old Mark Edward Fuller, of Oak Avenue in Lexington, was charged with felony larceny and three counts of misdemeanor larceny.
College spokeswoman Paula Dibley said Fuller worked for a company contracted by the college, not for the college itself.
Investigators said Fuller entered a classroom on at least three different days – Aug. 15, Aug. 16 and Sept. 4 – and removed transmissions and transfer cases.
Police said about 20 transmissions were taken.
The property is believed to have been sold as scrap metal, authorities said.
Fuller remained in jail Friday morning under a $25,000 bond.
