SALISBURY – A 79-year-old man was charged Saturday morning after authorities said a handgun was drawn during an apparent case of road-rage.
Horace Thomas, of Stokes Ferry Road, is accused of grabbing his .22-caliber derringer during a dispute in the 100 block of North Arlington Street about 7:45 a.m.
Authorities said Thomas pulled out the gun after he thought Olin Archie, 35, turned in front of him near the parking lot of Chick-Fil-A.
Archie pulled into a nearby parking lot following the turn, police said, when Thomas got out of his vehicle and approached him.
“This is a good way to get your brains blown out,” Thomas told Archie, according to the arrest report.
Thomas was charged on citation with misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun.
He was released at the scene and is expected to be in court on Nov. 5.
