SALISBURY – A 21-year-old Walmart employee is accused of taking more than $1,000 from her cash register on different days throughout September.
Gina Marie Moore, of North Salisbury Avenue, Spencer, was arrested at the South Arlington Street store Thursday afternoon and charged with felony embezzlement.
Salisbury Police officers were contacted by Walmart’s loss prevention department about 2 p.m. after authorities said she was caught on camera taking bills from the drawer and sliding them into her pocket.
A police report said Moore took money from the register on six different occasions. She typically stole $100 each time, but the amounts grew to $350 before her arrest, officers said.
Moore remained in Rowan County jail Friday under a $700 bond.
