A China Grove man faces larceny charges after authorities said he stole metal and then tried to sell it.
Joel Steven Upchurch, 30, of Colonial Drive in China Grove, is charged with obtaining property by false pretenses and two counts of larceny.
The Rowan County Sheriffs Office said Upchurch stole $6,500 worth of metal and tools Friday and tried to sell it.
He is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
