SALISBURY – Authorities said a man flagged down a motorist and then robbed him near Locke Street Sunday night.
The driver told Salisbury Police he was looking for Victory Street when he saw the suspect.
The man jumped into his car when he got near and asked “if he needed some pills,” a police report said.
When the driver explained he was trying to find Victory Street, not drugs, the robber pulled out a silver handgun and demanded his money.
The driver gave him his wallet, which contained $91.
The robber then demanded his ring, but it was accidentally dropped during the exchange and fell between the seats.
The robber left on foot, but the driver followed him to a nearby car.
After he got in and drove away, the driver continued to follow him and described the vehicle as a silver car, possibly a Buick.
The suspect was described as a 6-foot-tall man, slightly overweight in his 30s.
He was wearing a black hoodie with white writing on the back and spoke in an “educated manner,” the report said.
The robber was last seen traveling on Brenner Avenue.
