SALISBURY — Following the arrest of two teenagers this weekend, deputies are asking any victims of vehicle break-ins near Sherrills Ford Road in the last two months to contact authorities.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said Jacob Pilkington and Dalton Roysdon, both 18, admitted to a break-in spree that netted more than $3,600. But more charges could come.
Authorities received a tip after releasing surveillance video from an Amoco convenience store Friday where deputies said the teens used a stolen credit card.
Officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Oak Bluff Drive, in the subdivision of Cameron Glen off Sherrills Ford Road, during the investigation into Pilkington and Roysdon.
Property from break-ins on Quail Drive, Partridge Run, Sherrills Ford Road, Mooresville Road and Rogers Road was found and much of the property was returned to owners.
Deputies said the teens also broke into a vacant home on Sherrills Ford Road, the Westside Swim and Racket Club, Grindtec on Mooresville Road; Peeple’s Bark and Stone; and the Z & H Mart on Mooresville Road.
Sunglasses, electronics, ammunition, medication and several credit cards were among the items stolen, report show.
Both teens were in Rowan County jail Monday under a $50,000 bond each.
