Stop Hunger Now is an international hunger relief organization that coordinates the distribution of food and other aid around the world.
On Sunday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m., a meal packaging event will take place at Trinity United Methodist Church, Kannapolis. On this day, more than 90 volunteers will gather to package more than 16,000 meals to be shipped to feed children in developing countries around the world.
Each small meal packet consists of rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring mix including 21 essential vitamins and minerals. Each meal costs only 25 cents. The food stores easily, has a shelf-life of five years and transports quickly.
