Police are looking for two people who robbed a Salisbury man at knifepoint in the 1500 block of North Long Street late Sunday night.
The 30-year-old man told Salisbury Police detectives he was walking on the sidewalk around 10 p.m. when someone driving a late model Crown Victoria approached him. The driver turned off the car’s headlights and turned around. The driver pulled the car alongside the man. The driver and a passenger jumped out. The driver held a knife up to the victim, and the passenger patted the victim down. The two men asked where the victim’s wallet was. The victim told them he had it in his coat pocket, which was draped over his arm.
When one of the suspects grabbed the coat, the man took off running. The driver with the knife threw it toward the victim. The victim told police he saw the knife pass over his shoulder. An officer later found the knife stuck in a tree stump. The victim went home and went to the East Spencer Police Department to report the incident.
Police are looking for two black males, both between 18 and 21 years old, about 160 to 170 pounds, both 5’8” to 5’10”. The driver wielding the knife had a close cropped hair cut and the other suspect had short dreadlocks.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
