Salisbury Police are looking for thieves who have been taking scooters throughout the city.
Yonic Sanchez-Garcia, 21, reported a scooter parked on Shaver Street, outside of Christo’s restaurant, was taken Monday between 2:30 and 2:50 p.m. The scooter was valued at $750, a report said.
Scott Terry, 25, reported a mo-ped was taken from a parking lot in the 200 block of Ridge Avenue. He said his Jonway mo-ped was taken sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning around 2 a.m. Sometime between 7 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Monday, David Stewart, 25, reported the theft of his mo-ped. The scooter was taken, he told authorities, from the 600 block of West Liberty Street. It was parked in front of his home.
Police say on Tuesday someone tried to take a scooter from a home on Lincolnton Road. The owner of the scooter, Concepcio Ochoa Rudea, said she had it locked. The lock was cut, but it appears something or someone scared the would-be thief. The scooter was parked in front of her home, but was not taken.
Witnesses or anyone with any information about these incidents is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
