Kannapolis man charged in bank robberies

A Kannapolis man has been charged with bank robberies that occurred in Concord, Mooresville and Huntersville earlier this month.
Officers with the Concord Police Department, along with Mooresville and Huntersville police departments, today charged Dacey Maurice Jones with multiple crimes relating to recent bank robberies.
The Kannapolis Police Department executed an early morning search warrant at Jones’ residence located at 804 Klondale Ave. in Kannapolis. Jones was taken into custody and is at the Cabarrus County Jail under a $100,000 secure bond.
Jones has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the May 9 robbery of the BB&T bank on Harris Road in Concord. Jones was also charged with attempted robbery of the Fifth Third Bank on Main Street in Mooresville on May 24, and common law robbery of the Fifth Third Bank on Gilead Road in Huntersville on May 24.
