William B. Hannah

William B. Hannah of Durham received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine on Saturday, May 11, 2013. Will earned his undergraduate degree from UNC in 2007.
Actively involved in cystic fibrosis research as well as gene therapy research, his work has been published as numerous abstracts as well as peer-reviewed journal articles.
During medical school, Will co-founded the Carolina Genetics student organization and served as co-president of the Class of 2012.
At the commencement ceremony, he was awarded the Christopher C. Fordham Award for leadership. He has been inducted into the Order of the Grail-Valkyries, the Frank Porter Graham Honor Society and the John B. Graham Research Society.
In June, Will will begin a combined internal medicine and medical genetics residency program at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.
Will is the son of Ted and Cathy Hannah of Salisbury and the grandson of Elizabeth Williams of Granite Quarry and the late Buck Williams and Bill and Frances Hannah.
