More than two months after vandals broke into and ransacked the Kiwanis Club building twice in the same month, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has charged seven juveniles with the April crimes.
The Kiwanis Club was broken into in mid-April and vandals caused more than $75,000 in damages. The building was broken into the second time, causing another $200 worth of damage. The building, located on Bringle Ferry Road, is not accessible by car and had been vacant for about six years.
Detectives with the sheriff’s criminal investigation division were able to identify seven juveniles, whose names cannot be used, through the public and through the investigation. The juveniles were referred to Juvenile Services and released to their parents.
