Salisbury Police say things got heated between a father and stepdaughter in the Food Lion parking lot and led to assault charges for a Rockwell man. Christopher Allen Davis, 37, of the 2500 block of Wind Swept Way, was charged with misdemeanor assault on a female.
Police received multiple calls around 12:15 p.m. Thursday about a fight in progress in the parking lot of the store at 2104 Statesville Blvd. When an officer arrived, the victim, a 15-year-old girl, told him her stepfather physically assaulted her. Davis told police he, his wife and her daughter were in the car. He told police he was driving and his stepdaughter kicked him. He stopped the car, pulled her out and pushed her to the ground. He told the officer the girl was “out of control.” The officer noted in his report the teen had a cut to her shoulder, red marks on her back and arms. Davis has since been released from the Rowan County jail on a $1,500 secured bond.
Davis has been convicted of safecracking, breaking and entering and larceny, according to the N.C. Department of Correction website.
