John York Sifford and Betty Josey Sifford of Rockwell, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 12, 2013.
The Siffords were united in marriage with a military wedding on July 12, 1953 at Organ Lutheran Church in Salisbury by the Rev. A. W. Aderholdt. John retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 42 years. Betty worked at Cannon Mills, Rockwell Farms and was a waitress for Lyerly’s Fish House.
The couple have two children, Michael Dean Sifford and wife Becky and Lisa Sifford Yates and husband Mark. They also have three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
