Mike and Cathy Lyerly of Rockwell are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Brooke Michelle Lyerly, to Jesse Thomas Musick, both of Winston-Salem.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Doris and the late Norman Pethel of Salisbury and John Joe and Sue Lyerly of Granite Quarry. A 2001 graduate of East Rowan High School, Brooke received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2005. She also received a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Counseling and a Master of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from East Carolina University in 2009. She is employed by Partnership for a Drug Free NC, where she works in collaboration with Wake Forest Baptist Health as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist.
The future groom is the son of David and Cheryl Musick of Roanoke, Va. Jesse is the grandson of the late Thomas and Ethel (Jean) Dickenson and the late Honorable Jack and Olena Musick of Elizabethton, Tenn. A 1999 graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington, Ky., Jesse attended Lexington Community College and Kentucky Christian College before relocating to Greenville, N.C. He earned an Associate in Applied Science of Business Administration from Pitt Community College in 2011. He currently works in the computer industry.
The couple will marry Sept. 21 at Chetola Resort at Blowing Rock.
