A Salisbury man authorities have been looking for nearly a month was found at a Fulton Street home and was charged Monday. William Isaac Sanders, 30, of the 800 block of Lincolnton Road, had eluded law enforcement for some time, but a tip to Salisbury Police led them to find him at a home in the 700 block of North Fulton Street.
Warrants were served on Sanders, who was charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and 16 counts felony failure to appear. Officials issued a plea for the public’s help in locating Sanders, also known as “Ill Will” earlier in July. Police officials believe the home Sanders was found in belonged to his girlfriend.
In 2011, Sanders was charged with assaulting a man in a hotel room and on the same night pistol-whipping a man. In 2009, after being released from the Department of Corrections, Sanders was cited by police 24 hours later with marijuana possession. Sanders was also charged in 2009 after police dug up marijuana plants they say he was growing in his backyard.
Sanders remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $132,500 secured bond.
