Sarah Catherine Shirley and Russell Andrew Michalec were married June 22, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Salisbury. The Rev. Rhodes Woolly officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the home of Bill and Shari Graham.
Maid of honor was Jessica Clark, and bridesmaids were Ellison Taylor, Elizabeth Adcock, Rebecca Waggoner and Alexanderia Yarborough. Serving as flower girl was Adeline Bayer.
Best man was Aaron Meadows, and groomsmen were David Shirley, brother of the bride, Cameron White, Christopher Dula and Brett Underwood. Ring bearer was John Speaks, IV.
Crucifer was Matthew Woolly; guest registrar was Ashley Jordan and David Jones, and bulletin attendants were Sandy Jordan and Rebecca Jennings. Music was by Stanford Jordan, Mark Jennings, Greg Pannell and Robert Durocher. Vocals were by Leah Ann Honeycutt and Greg Edds.
The bride is the daughter of Steven and Nancy Shirley of Salisbury and the granddaughter of Richard and Patty Ruff, Newberry, S.C., and Ronald and Sandra Shirley, Williamsburg, Va. An honors graduate of Salisbury High School, she is a senior at Radford University, Radford, Va
The groom is the son of Leigh Michalec, Salisbury and Joseph Michalec, Deltona, Fla.; and the grandson of Charles and Genevieve Reed, Salisbury. Also an honors graduate of Salisbury High School, he is a senior at Catawba College.
The couple honeymooned in Charlotte for a few days and will travel to Destin, Fla., in early August.
