Salisbury Police are trying to find the owner of a vehicle that struck a Dollar General store employee in the parking lot. The store employee, Samantha Smith, told police she spotted a woman inside the store who opened a box of candy and emptied the contents into her purse.
The incident occurred Monday after 7 p.m. at the Jake Alexander Boulevard store location. Smith, 26, tried to stop the woman, even following her outside the store. But as Smith was recording the woman’s license plate number, the woman hit her in the stomach with the car. Smith declined medical treatment.
Smith described the car as silver or gray and believed it to be a Ford Edge or a similar model. The vehicle is registered to a person in Charlotte, but no one has been arrested.
