Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Tyler of Newton Grove announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Grace, to Daniel James Agner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Agner of Salisbury.
Ashley is the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty Tyler and the late Mr. Herman Tyler and Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Jones, all of Newton Grove. She was the 2008 valedictorian of Hobbton High School and graduated magna cum laude from Meredith College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Kindergarten through sixth grade teaching license. She taught fourth grade at Hobbton Elementary School and this fall will be employed by Lexington City Schools as a third grade teacher at Southwest Elementary School.
Daniel is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Eagle and Mr. and Mrs. James A. Agner, Jr., all of Salisbury. A 2008 East Rowan High School graduate, Daniel graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. He is employed by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities Department as an environmental program inspector.
A Sept. 28 wedding is planned at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Newton Grove.
