Donald E. Stubbs Jr. and Carol Gilbert Stubbs of Gold Hill celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 27, 2013. A party was held in their honor July 20 at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle hosted by Brady and Bridgett Stubbs and Rhonda and Jessie Penley.
The Stubbs’ were married July 27, 1963, in York, S.C. A former truck driver, Donald retired from Swing Transport, and Carol retired from Carolina Stalite Co., where she was accounts manager.
The couple’s children are Ronald Eric Stubbs and Brady Dale Stubbs, both of Gold Hill, and the late Darrell Wayne Stubbs, who died Aug. 9, 1987. They have three grandchildren, Jennifer Stubbs and Ashley and Dylan Stubbs.
Donald and Carol also celebrated with an extended trip to Yellowstone Park, Mount Rushmore and the Badlands.
