SALISBURY — Three people riding motorcycles led the N.C. Highway Patrol on a chase Sunday afternoon on Interstate 85 that reached speeds greater than 150 mph, authorities said.
Troopers managed to stop one motorcycle and arrested a 29-year-old man from New York. The other riders apparently got away.
Jimmie Anthony, of Staten Island, is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under $2,500 bond, charged with felony fleeing to elude with a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
Anthony was arrested at 3:46 p.m. Sunday on I-85 near U.S. 52 by Trooper H.T. Sloop. He was riding a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle.
