CHINA GROVE — Current China Grove Councilman Brandon Linn is hoping to stay on the board, he said, so he can continue to build on the relationships he’s developed while serving the last four years.
Linn, 31, is a school resource officer for the Landis Police Department. If elected, he will be serving his second term on the board.
“I have always been interested in how the government body works in a municipality. I’ve always felt it was important to listen to people’s concerns and to be an advocate for them,” he said.
Linn said he would like to be part of the growth of the town and has hands-on experience “doing what I can to make a difference for the betterment of the citizens and the town as a whole.”
He said since being on the board he has four years experience and has built a rapport with residents and business owners.
When he ran four years ago, he spoke about having an open door policy. Linn said his door still remains open.
Linn is the council’s liaison to the China Grove Planning Board and serves on the South Rowan YMCA board. He is a graduate of South Rowan High School. He’s also received basic law enforcement training.
Linn and his wife, Hannah, have one daughter, Savannah.
