Mark and Sharon Beattie of Granite Quarry are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Madelyne Paige Beattie, to Thomas Dexter Burris of Salisbury.
Madelyne is the granddaughter of Terry and Pat Julian of Faith and the late Jean Beattie of Spencer. A 2008 graduate of East Rowan High School, she will graduate from Pfeiffer University in 2014, where she is a member of Kappa Delta Pi honor society. She is employed by Faith Soda Shop.
Dexter is the son of Tommy and Tammy Burris and the grandson of Sue and the late Jessie McKeithan and Thomas A. and the late Fannie Burris, all of Salisbury. A 2005 graduate of East Rowan High School, he is a chemical operator at Henkel in Salisbury.
The couple will marry Oct. 12 at Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith.
