Donald I. Pruitt and Sula Echols Pruitt of China Grove celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 22, 2013. They were married Sept. 22, 1963, at Haw Creek Baptist Church in Cumming, Ga., by the Rev. Jack Hardeman.
Retired, Donald was a grocery retailer for Crossmark Inc. for 11 years, and Sula, also retired, was a registered dietitian at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord for 31 years.
They have two children, Kevin (wife Jamie) Pruitt of China Grove and Lisa (husband Brad) Thompson of Morganton. They also have five grandchildren.
The Pruitts’ celebration included a two-week cruise to Alaska, as well as a dinner for family and friends held Sept. 28, which was hosted by their children.
