Leebert Norman Ketner and Barbara Ann Campbell Ketner of Salisbury are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple was married Oct. 17, 1953, at Organ Lutheran Church in Salisbury by the Rev. A.W. Aderholdt. Wedding plans developed quickly due to Leebert’s impromptu weekend leave with the Army while stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Barbara moved to the Fort Leonard Wood area shortly after the wedding to begin their married life together.
Leebert retired as a Shift Supervisor from PPG Industries, Lexington in 1991 and enjoys playing golf, sometimes scoring less than his age. Barbara retired as a bookkeeper from Rusher Tire Service, Salisbury in 1991 and is an avid reader.
The couple has three children, Nancy Ketner Minter and husband Jim, David Ketner and wife Tina and Craig Ketner and wife Robin. They also have six grandchildren, Jenni Saunders, Whitney Ketner, Hayli Ketner, Brad Ketner, Kevin Ketner and Abby Ketner.
