Police say a Salisbury woman was cited after she hit a vehicle, left the scene and reported to authorities that her vehicle had been hit.
Nikole Rae Lewis, 34, of the 700 block of S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., was issued a citation for misdemeanor hit and run.
Salisbury Police say the driver she hit, Ted Gardner, had already been in a vehicle accident and was waiting off the side of the road when Lewis struck him and continued. Gardner reported he’d been involved in a car accident just before 7 p.m. Thursday, and that the driver, Edgar Organista, stopped.
The two men waited at the corner of Fulton and Monroe streets for officers to arrive. The men witnessed a green Nissan Passport strike Gardner’s vehicle and drive away, leaving its front fender behind. A short time later, Lewis called police while along South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue to say someone struck her and left.
