The fall barbecue at Liberty United Methodist Church, intersection of Stokes Ferry and Liberty Roads, will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.
It will feature hickory-cooked barbecue pork and chicken. Take out is available.
Ardis Chapel AME Zion Church, 1940 Old Mocksville Road, will have a Friendship Tea from 4 to 6 p.m. today.
The event will include games, refreshments and fun for a $5 donation.

First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury and The Bell Tower Ringers will present a Handbell Festival concert at 5 p.m. today.
A collaboration of 68 members from 10 different churches is the result of a two-day handbell workshop.
The theme is “Handbells for All Seasons” and will be directed by guest clinician Michael Glasgow.
Apostle KB Russell, of KB Russell Ministries, will bring “A Message Ordained by God to Set the Captive Free.” at 5 p.m. today.
The free program is hosted by Apostle Joe and Prophet Belinda Alford of Faith Covenant Ministry and will be held at the J.C. Price Building, 1433 Old Wilkesboro Road.
Salem Lutheran Church will hold its All Saints worship services Sunday during its two services — 8:30 a.m. contemporary and 10:45 a.m. traditional.
There will be a litany to remember and give thanks for the saints, those in heaven and on earth. Holy Communion will also be celebrated.
For those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, the Grief Share Care Support group meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.
Salem will also recognize the Hospice Sabbath on Sunday. Salem is located at 5080 Sherrills Ford Road.

First Presbyterian Church Salisbury celebrates All Saints’ Day on Sunday.
The custom of commemorating all the martyrs of the church on a single day goes back at least to the third century.
First Presbyterian will remember their fellowship disciples who have died since last year’s All Saints’ Sunday during the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services in the sanctuary, and 8:50 a.m. in the Life Center.
Ardis Chapel AME Zion Church will have a 100 Women in Hats Program at 3 p.m. Sunday.
The Rev. Carolyn Bratton, pastor of Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church of Salisbury, will be the guest preacher. Everyone is invited to attend and wear their beautiful hat.

Trading Ford Baptist Church, 3600 Long Ferry Road, celebrates homecoming during the 10 a.m. service Sunday.
Trading Ford church has a rich history, dating back to a mission in a one room schoolhouse in the late 1860s.
Homecoming kicks off fall revival with services are 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Speaker for the week is Evangelist Neal Hatfield from Wilkes County, director of Uplands Reach Christian Camp in Millers Creek.

Hill credits God for the talent and skill required for playing instruments, singing, composing and producing music.

Word of Life Family Worship Center will have its Deaconess Cynthia Sloan-Bailey, education director, will speak and there will be door prizes and entertainment.

In celebration of All Saints Sunday, candles on the altar will be lit in memory of those who have died during the past year.

GOLD HILL — Liberty United Methodist Church, 3860 Liberty Road, will host a gospel concert from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
The concert will feature Matthew Weaver, a local musician, and the Gospel Voices from Union Grove.
Admission is free and a love offering will be taken to benefit Red Bird Missionary Conference in Beverly, Ky. Gently used clothing will also be accepted for the mission.
Following the concert, there will be light refreshments and representatives from Red Bird Mission will be available for questions.
Red Bird Conference ministers through churches, educational programs, child care, medical work and economic resource development.
The Missionaries of United Baptist Church in Kannapolis will host its pre-Thanksgiving revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday to raise money for families in need.
There will be different speakers each night.
Fall revival at Trinity Presbyterian Church USA, 300 S. Caldwell St., will take place at 7:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

Flora Lester, director of sacred music and liturgical arts at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will play the “Organ Dedicatory Recital” at Sacred Heart at 7 p.m. Friday.
The six- rank, two manual organ was installed in May and is Sacred Heart’s first pipe organ. A reception will follow in Brincefield Hall.
Organist Shawn Kenny of Columbus, Ohio, will provide organ accompaniment for the classic silent film, “The King of Kings” at Sacred Heart at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will include a brief intermission and conclude at 8:30 p.m..
SPENCER — There will be a Veteran’s Day program at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 at Rhema Praise and Worship Church, 117 Long Ferry Road.
The guest speaker will be Col. (Ret.) Dave Ulmer, a 35-year Army Special Forces veteran and who has dedicated his life to helping veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Ulmer served in combat operations in Vietnam and during the first Gulf War through a variety of special operations units and suffers himself from PTSD.
Since retiring from the Army in 2000, Ulmer has battled his own difficulties with gaining treatment and the proper disability benefits from the Veterans Administration.
Ulmer has successfully aided veterans from combat operations stretching from the Korean War to the present.
The Praise Team of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Concord will host its annual Shabach Service at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
Local praise teams, dance teams and mimes will be featured.
