A collaboration of 68 members from 10 different churches is the result of a two-day handbell workshop.

The custom of commemorating all the martyrs of the church on a single day goes back at least to the third century.
First Presbyterian will remember their fellowship disciples who have died since last year’s All Saints’ Sunday during the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services in the sanctuary, and 8:50 a.m. in the Life Center.
Ardis Chapel AME Zion Church will have a 100 Women in Hats Program at 3 p.m. Sunday.
The Rev. Carolyn Bratton, pastor of Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church of Salisbury, will be the guest preacher. Everyone is invited to attend and wear their beautiful hat.

Flora Lester, director of sacred music and liturgical arts at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will play the “Organ Dedicatory Recital” at Sacred Heart at 7 p.m. Friday.
The six- rank, two manual organ was installed in May and is Sacred Heart’s first pipe organ. A reception will follow in Brincefield Hall.

SPENCER — There will be a Veteran’s Day program at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 at Rhema Praise and Worship Church, 117 Long Ferry Road.
The guest speaker will be Col. (Ret.) Dave Ulmer, a 35-year Army Special Forces veteran and who has dedicated his life to helping veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Ulmer served in combat operations in Vietnam and during the first Gulf War through a variety of special operations units and suffers himself from PTSD.
Since retiring from the Army in 2000, Ulmer has battled his own difficulties with gaining treatment and the proper disability benefits from the Veterans Administration.
Ulmer has successfully aided veterans from combat operations stretching from the Korean War to the present.
The Praise Team of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Concord will host its annual Shabach Service at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
