CONCORD — Elizabeth Ann Cook and Benjamin Robert Peters, both of Raleigh, were united in marriage Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at Central Methodist Church. The Rev. Andy Langford officiated the 4:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of the late Randall B. Cook and Steve and Aubie Cook Purser of Concord. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Widenhouse Jr. of Concord and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kenneth Cook of Concord. She is the great-great niece of Mrs. Sallie Garvin and the late Cecil Garvin of Concord. Elizabeth is a 2000 graduate of Concord High School and a 2004 graduate of Peace College with a degree in Liberal Studies. She is employed with Hub International.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Peters of Salisbury. His grandparents are Mrs. Betty Wilson and the late Bill Wilson of Richfield and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bob Peters of Shippensburg, Pa. Benjamin is a 1998 graduate of East Rowan High School and a 2003 graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Turf Management. He is employed with Smith Turf and Irrigation.
The bride was escorted by her grandfather, A.W. Widenhouse Jr. Laura Hughes Cook of Charlotte, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Attending as matron of honor was Amanda Cook Sorrow of Banner Elk, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sieria Jane Eagle of Salisbury, groom’s niece; Jennifer Kamin Kulberish of Birmingham, Ala.; Nicole Jenks Moore of Raleigh; Meredith Cole Prutzman of Burlington; Kristin Michele Scott of Chicago, Ill.; and Courtney Madison Widenhouse of Concord, bride’s cousin. The flower girl was Emily Hope Salter of Raleigh.
The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Michael Joseph Hamilton, Arthur Thomas High Jr., both of Raleigh; David Justin Miller of Greenville, N.C.; Ryan Andrew Morris of Huntersville; Clinton Robert Riddle of Bessemer City; Parker White Watson of Raleigh; Andrew Thomas Wheeler Jr. of Morehead City; and Bradley Elliott Young of Lexington. Ring bearers were Christopher Garrett Eagle of Salisbury, groom’s nephew; and Charles Jackson Sorrow of Banner Elk, bride’s nephew.
Cindy Sides Widenhouse, aunt of the bride, was the guest registrar. The program attendant was Nikki Peters Eagle, sister of the groom.
The couple will reside in Raleigh, following a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic.
