De’Anna M. Walker of Salisbury is a distinguished honor graduate from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sills, Okla., and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Va.
The private completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military disciplines and studies, Army core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
The daughter of Peter and Ruby Walker of Salisbury, Walker is stationed at Fort Shafter in Honolulu, Hawaii, assigned to the 8th Theater Sustainment Command Brigade.
PFC Sam Poteat of Salisbury completed recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island on Oct. 25. Following leave, he will report for combat training at Fort Geiger in Jacksonville, N.C.
The son of Don and Lisa Poteat of Salisbury, PFC Poteat is a 2013 graduate of Salisbury High School.
