Mary Katherine Edwards and Thomas “Tommy” Warren Parr were unite in marriage Aug. 3, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Father John T. Putnam Jr. officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a 5 p.m. reception at The Country Club of Salisbury.
The bride was escorted by her father, Laurence Allen Edwards Jr. and attended by her sister, Miss Anita Taylor Edwards of Charlotte, as maid of honor.
Her bridesmaids were Miss Kathryn Marie Bauk, Chapel Hill, Mrs. Carson Clark Cogdill, Pinewood, S.C., Miss Jacqueline Elizabeth Delk, Lenoir, Miss Anna Catherine Echerd, Raleigh, Mrs. Elizabeth Currey Edwards, Salisbury, Mrs. Laura McKenzie Everhart, Raleigh, Miss Stephanie Ann Kelly, Los Angeles, Calif., Miss Caitlin Mary Lawless, Raleigh, Miss Elizabeth Ruffner Taylor, Salisbury, Miss Jamie Lynn Taylor, Raleigh, and Miss Tate Marie Struttmann, Durham.
Junior Bridesmaids were Mary Ellen Lewis, Mocksville, Morgan Joanna Lewis, Mocksville, and Klara Ann Lewis, Mocksville.
Best man was the groom’s cousin, Kevin Frances Herlehy of Dallas, Texas. Groomsmen included Mr. Patrick Joel Baker, Winston-Salem, Mr. Joshua Robert Crane, Raleigh, Mr. Adam Michael Easley, Raleigh, Mr. Laurence Allen Edwards III, Salisbury, Mr. Justin Robert Huntley, Raleigh, Mr. William Anderson Long, Jr., Raleigh, Mr. Marc Brendan Lutcavage, Raleigh, Mr. Marvin William McCombs IV, Mr. Wesbrook Johnson Parker, Jr., Jackson Hole, Wyo., Mr Frederick Davis Poisson III, Durham, and Mr. Clayton Tyler Speaks, Statesville.
Altar servers were Rayford Nelson Harrison and David Joseph Harrison, and cross bearer was Alexander Richard Taylor. Mrs. Jennifer Bauk Baker of Winston-Salem served as reader.
Serving as guest registrars were Miss Brooke Elizabeth Johnson and Miss Elizabeth Weldon Morris.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Allen Edwards, Jr. of Salisbury and the granddaughter of Mrs. Charlotte Ruffner Taylor, Salisbury, the late Charles David Taylor, Mrs. Ruth Moore Edwards, Salisbury, and the late Mr. Laurence Allen Edwards. A 2004 graduate of Salisbury High School, Mary Katherine earned a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising from Meredith College in Raleigh in 2008. She is employed by J.McLaughlin Clothiers in Charlotte.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Andrew Parr of Statesville and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Joseph Parr and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Francis Daly. A 1999 graduate of Statesville High School, he has also studied at North Carolina State University. Tommy is employed by Bonterra Builders LLC.
Following a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple are making their home in Charlotte.
