The Salisbury-Rowan branch of the NAACP will have a branch training session for members or members who need to renew membership today from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1920 Shirley Avenue, Salisbury.
After the training session there will be a planning meeting from 8 p.m.-9 p.m. where the Rev. Dr. William Barber, president of the state NAACP, will be the guest speaker. The meeting theme is “We Shall Not Be Moved,” and is open to anyone.
Local chapter President Scott Teamer said the meeting is designed to discuss a plan of action for 2014. He encourages community leaders and members of the faith community to attend.
