A Kannapolis man who failed to show up in court on drug charges last year has been arrested in Virginia and charged with stealing a car.
Jason Darrell Burdette, 38, was scheduled to appear before a Rowan County Superior Court judge for June charges of conspiracy to sell or deliver Ocycontin. But Burdette missed his court date.
He is currently jailed on a vehicle theft charge in Big Stone Gap, Va. Kannapolis Police Department investigators are working on getting him returned to Rowan to face the charges here, Capt. Pat Patty said.
